Meet the team
Josh Shaw
After relocating to the Milwaukee area with his wife, Josh started looking for an office space for New Roofs Inc. It was during this search that he stumbled upon an old blue building with a vintage-looking sign, “Carpets & Vinyl of Waukesha”. Carpets & Vinyl was located in the heart of Waukesha and had been a staple small business there for over forty years.
While the building certainly looked like it had seen better days, Josh knew never to judge a book by its cover. He worked with his real estate agent to obtain information about the building and eventually learned more about Gene Birdeau, the owner of Carpets & Vinyl. Despite not having an interest in the business that was being sold with the building, after meeting Gene, Josh decided that he would purchase Gene’s flooring business along with the building. Gene had made quite an impression on Josh. It was apparent to him that Gene was a man of integrity who had built up his small business over the last forty years through hard work and dedication. It didn’t seem quite right to Josh that the business should be dissolved when it had been built by a longstanding member of the community and had essentially become a part of the community’s heritage. Knowing how important small businesses are to communities, Josh just couldn’t walk away from the opportunity of continuing Gene’s legacy.
Since purchasing the building and Carpets & Vinyl of Waukesha, Josh and his team have completely remodeled the building, both inside and out. The flooring business has also been provided a new name, My New Floors Inc. Despite its new name though, the legacy of Carpets & Vinyl remains throughout My New Floors business model: customers first and treat everyone like family.
Mike Gasparre
When not working, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my children. Whether it’s tea parties and making slime with the girls or throwing the ball around and jamming the blues with the boys…. I love it all!
Maxwell
Maxwell studied at the University of Minnesota, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Communications prior to moving to the Milwaukee area. In his free time, Maxwell enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
